Telecom Argentina, hit by ransomware

07/18/2020

Telecom, a telecommunications company in Argentina, reported having managed to contain a ransomware cyberattack against its systems without paying the $7.5 million in Monero demanded by the attackers.

According to the company, critical services were not affected and none of its customers or databases were affected by the situation. Only remote customer service was suspended because of the attack and has now been gradually re-established.
