Syniverse discloses data breach
Syniverse, a leading telecommunications service provider, has disclosed in a report to the SEC, that cybercriminals repeatedly gained unauthorised access to its IT systems, affecting its databases.
The incident was detected in May 2021, but the forensic investigation has revealed that the intrusion began five years earlier and compromised, among other confidential information, the login credentials to the Electronic Data Transfer environments of multiple of its customers. All those affected have been notified.
