Valve’s Steam is the biggest platform in the PC gaming market. This service is used by millions of users all over the world, and in some cases people have invested literally thousands of dollars into their own accounts. A bug has been detected that can be used to abuse the “forgotten password” feature in Steam’s log-in service, completely bypassing the stage where they have to enter a security code, and gain access to reset the password of the account. All is need to carry out this exploit is the account name of a Steam user. The bug has already been fixed and Valve are resetting passwords on accounts with suspicious password changes.
