On Thursday 9th, April, 10 command and control servers were seized simultaneously in the Netherlands along with other servers in the US, Russia, Luxembourg and Poland.

It is believed that the Simda botnet has infected more than 770,000 computers worldwide. Most of the affected users were unaware of their status. Microsoft has released a solution to clean and restore the defenses of an infected computer, which has been provided to CERTs and ISPs.
