Samsung confirms having suffered a cybersecurity incident

The company has issued a statement about a cybersecurity incident in which some customers' information has been affected. They have stated that an unauthorized third party gained access to some of the company's U.S. systems, gaining access to personal information of several customers. They defend that they have taken measures to protect the affected systems by collaborating with an external company expert in cybersecurity and the competent authorities of the country.

As for the exposure of customer data, they assure that no social security or bank card numbers have been affected, but information about name, location, contact, date of birth or product registration has been affected. Samsung confirms that it is notifying each specific customer of the information breached.
