Multiple vulnerabilities discovered in luxury cars
Cyber security researchers have detected multiple vulnerabilities in luxury cars such as BMW, Roll Royce, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Porsche, Jaguar, Land Rover, Ford, KIA, Honda, Infiniti, Nissan, Acura, Hyundai, Toyota and Genesis, which would allow an attacker to take control of the vehicle and access customer data or even their accounts. During the investigation, 1.2 million user accounts in the system were accessed.
In addition to car manufacturers, car technology manufacturers Spireon and Reviver were also affected, as well as connected car services SiriusXM.
All affected vendors have been notified of the findings and have since corrected the flaws.
