Mitsubishi Electric has been the victim of a cyberattack
Mitsubishi Electric has been compromised by a data leak, approximately 200MB, due to unauthorized access.
The incident was detected on June 28, 2019, and was made public last Monday, January 20. The Japanese company confirms that certain information regarding employees, retirees, job applicants, technical data and business partners could have been leaked abroad, but in no case, that which is highly confidential.
In response, external access to the systems was restricted and an investigation was launched, after which it was determined that the cause was a 0-day vulnerability in the antivirus software.
