Information posted on the Darknet due to a Gunnebo ransomware incident

10/27/2020

Some of the data stolen from the Swedish multinational Gunnebo, dedicated to offering security products and services, has been published on the Darknet after having suffered a ransomware-type incident on its IT network on August 25 and having refused to pay.

At the time, Gunnebo claimed that it had successfully thwarted the cyberattack, isolating and analyzing the data on all its servers. However, on October 27, around 38,000 files were found to have been compromised.

Currently, the data that has been published is the subject of an ongoing investigation and lacks high sensitivity according to Gunnebo CEO Stefan Syrén.
