Fingerprint cloning through digital photographs
A study carried out by researchers at the National Institute of Computer Science in Japan confirms that fingerprints can be cloned through a photograph in which the subject poses showing his fingers and is at a distance of up to three meters from the lens. This discovery highlights the danger of uploading images to the Internet in which hands adopt forms such as the peace and victory sign, or the popular Vulcan salute, as it would make possible the duplication of the fingerprint for using in Biometric sensors.
