Data leakage affects 21,000 US Marines

Personal data of 21,426 members of the US Marines, including military and civilians, was leaked. The leak occurred when an unencrypted message was sent by mistake to a mailing list of an unofficial domain related to the Navy.

The leaked information, according to a spokesperson for the Navy, includes a partial number of social security, banking information, email address, postal address and contact information in case of emergency.
