A data breach at SITA affects multiple airlines
SITA, the leading provider in air transport communications and IT worldwide, has confirmed that its servers, called SITA Passenger Service System (SITA PSS), have been the target of a sophisticated cyberattack which resulted in a data breach.
The incident, which was confirmed on 24th of February, has compromised data of millions of passengers who belong to multiple airlines. The full impact and extent are unknown so far.
After the incident, SITA’s Security Incident Response Team with the support of other cybersecurity experts took containment measures and an investigation is ongoing to find out the causes. All affected parties have also been informed.
