Cyberattack hit petrol stations in Iran

An alleged cyberattack on the IT network of NIOPDC (National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company), the Iranian national oil products distribution company, has caused around 3.500 petrol stations to lose service in the country.

Users found evidence of the attack on pump screens, displaying the message 'cyberattack 64411', and in changes to prices on billboards, as the attack corrupted government-issued electronic cards, often used to purchase fuel.

At the end, after the government downplayed the significance of the incident, all services have been restored.
