$5M stolen from Bitcoin exchange Bitstamp
The third worldwide bitcoins exchanger, Bitstamp, has suffered a security breach in their systems in which were stolen 19,000 BTCs (worth about $ 5 million, a BTC was about $ 270 at the time of the incident) and forced a service shutdown of 24 hours. The Company has announced that "balances held prior to our temporary suspension of services will not be affected and will be honored in full". Responsibility for the attack is currently unknown and Bitstamp is working with the authorities in Slovenia, where its headquarters is located, to discover the criminals.
