Aurubis suffers cyberattack on its IT systems
Aurubis, Europe's largest copper smelting company, has been the victim of a widespread cyberattack targeting the metals and mining industry. As a result of the incident, several systems at the company's premises had to be shut down and disconnected from the internet as a precautionary measure.
The production and environmental protection facilities of the smelters continue to operate, as well as the incoming and outgoing goods, which also continue to operate manually. The extent of the impact on Aurubis is currently being assessed, and cooperation with the investigating authorities has been initiated.
