Attack on Internet DNS root servers

It has been published an attack to multiple DNS root servers on the Internet during two days and with a traffic volume of 5 million requests per second, 250 times higher than usual. The attack was made by correctly formed DNS requests resolving only two domains, but from multiple sources geographically dispersed. The attack is presumed to have been launched using a botnet.
