The Civil Guard, in the so-called LUPIN operation, has arrested the largest cyber-staffer in the history of Spain. The detainee, a young man of 23 who had a criminal group under his command to which he paid a monthly salary for his work, had income generated by these frauds that could reach up to 300,000€ monthly.
More than 30 fraudulent online stores managed by the detainee have been tracked. These websites were available for a short period of time and could only be active on a weekend.
Over time, the delinquent perfected his scams, even calling his victims to install an application on the mobile, which was responsible for redirecting the SMS to be able to charge the accounts of those affected by high amounts.
